The Inspiration

At the inception of this gastronomic adventure, it was Denis Gaiduk who ignited the spark of inspiration—an audacious notion to establish a sushi haven adjacent to the esteemed QBar and wine lounge. But in a remarkable departure from convention, a divergent design narrative emerged. A departure from the opulent and somber aesthetics of the wine lounge, Yuliya Gaiduk sought uncharted waters, embracing novelty and distinction. The core mission: to champion local artisans and creators, thereby showcasing their innovative materials and craftsmanship. And at the helm of this venture stood "In Colour Renovations," the appointed general contractor, orchestrating the realisation of this grand vision.

Unveiling Japanese Essence

Guided by the sacred tenets of Japanese interior design, the QSushi space takes form, embodying a harmonious union of nature and artistry:

• The embrace of organic textures and elements.

• A serene, muted color palette that evokes tranquility.

• Nature's essence seamlessly invited indoors.

• A retreat from clamour, embracing serenity.

• Infusion of Japanese symbolism and adornments.

• Adorned with understated furnishings, characterised by their clean lines and natural wood.

Architectural Ingenuity

The contours of QSushi's original layout posed a unique challenge—a deep and narrow expanse that demanded ingenious solutions. The answer? A mezzanine level boasting a soaring double volume, a majestic response to the lofty 5.25-meter ceiling height. This elevated platform transforms into an intimate sanctuary for private gatherings and professional rendezvous. The lightweight metal framework and staircase are gracefully swathed in light-hued oak panels, lending an aura of elegance to the structure. The façade, graced with frameless, stackable glass panels, serves as a threshold between interiors and the outdoors, ushering in a seamless connection, an uninterrupted flow.

A Symphony of Hues

Within QSushi's sanctuary, an exquisite color palette weaves an enchanting narrative: the warm embrace of oak and the gentle whisper of light grey Marmorean Stucco concrete plaster upon the walls. A daring experiment in five-step chromatic gradation adorns walls and ceilings, shifting from the depths of charcoal to the purity of near-white. This audacious play of tones accentuates the venue's soulful ambiance.

The Artistry Within

Intricately imagined and meticulously crafted, QSushi's bespoke interior captivates with design elements that redefine sophistication:

• Artisanal reptile tiles—mingling dark grey, light grey, and off-white—resonate with aquatic grace, adorning walls in a resplendent tribute to marine life.

• Round mirrors, awash in vibrant red, mirror the fervent Japanese sun rising on the horizon.

• A bespoke chandelier weaves an elaborate dance of light, evoking fishing nets cast upon the sea, a luminous centrepiece commanding attention.

• The bar counter, hewn from black marble with sinuous white veins, stands as a testament to enduring coastal cliffs, an emblem of Japan's majestic landscape.

• Nestled beneath the staircase, a miniature ZEN garden flourishes with a Ficus Bonsai and carefully placed rocks, a microcosm of serenity harmonising with the venue's Japanese oasis.

The Culmination of Craftsmanship

The union of nature's elegance and design's finesse culminates in an aura of harmony and serenity. Proportions blend seamlessly, lines find equilibrium, and the embodiment of Japanese symbolism converges within QSushi bar at Quoin Rock. Rosebank's culinary landscape is forever transformed, a masterpiece where happiness and tranquility intertwine in contemporary elegance.
